We believe that active and mobile seniors should remain engaged in the community and part of a vibrant social network for as long as possible. In support of that mission, Greater Spokane County Meals on Wheels operates dining locations known as Silver Cafes, in Spokane as well as Spokane Valley, Spangle, Deer Park, Airway Heights, and Rockford.
Silver Cafes promote socialization through a restaurant-style dining experience and a full-service atmosphere. Games, activities and simple coffee and conversation and monthly speakers are all waiting for you!
Cost and Eligibility
Participants are required to be of the age of 60 and older in order to dine at the Silver Cafe.
A participant contribution of $5.00 per meal is suggested, but seniors pay only what they can, even if nothing at all.
Individual contributions are not monitored and no one is turned away for an inability to pay. RSVPs are not required and all eligible participants are encouraged to simply show up, grab a seat, and enjoy a warm meal along with pleasant conversation.
