Dealing with COVID-19
Closing our twevle Silver Cafes
As of March 20th, we are asking participants at our twelve Silver Cafes to sign up for home-delivered meals. This will enable us to ensure those who need meals are still receiving the nutrition they need but are limiting their exposure to individuals who may be caring the virus.
In order to transition to more home delivery, we need to increase our volunteer force. If you are healthy and able to drive during this time, please sign up to help deliver meals.
One of the hallmarks of Meals on Wheels is the daily wellness check that our volunteers provide. Often times is comes with a hug or handshake. We are instructing our volunteers to evaluate their normal habits and follow these guidelines:
- Make sure you are well.
- Use hand sanitizer between deliveries.
- Keep a personal space of at least 6 feet between you and the participant
